Eid is celebrated by Muslims all over the world. It is the greatest and most important festival that the Muslim community celebrates every year with great joy. It marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

During Ramadan, all Muslims fast from dawn to dusk and read the Quran with the hope that no one suffers from sorrow in their life and pray to Allah for the happiness of all humanity. People generously donate food and money to those in need. After the holy month of Ramadan ends and the new moon of Shawwal is sighted, Muslims break their fasts and Eid al-Fitr is celebrated the next day.

Eid al-Fitr was originally initiated by the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. It is believed that festivals began after Muhammad migrated from Mecca to Medina. On this day, everyone wakes up early in the morning, takes a holy bath, wears new clothes, and goes to open spaces or Eidgah to offer prayers. They also exchange hugs and good wishes saying 'Id Mubarak'.

After offering prayers, people eat special dishes and sweets. It is a common practice to sacrifice a goat or sheep and distribute it among the poor, guests, and family members.

Thus, the Id is merrily celebrated by the followers of Islam by offering prayers to God Allah, exchanging cards and wishes, enjoying delicious dishes, and giving alms to beggars.
