IOE 2025 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the IOE Entrance Exam, a candidate must fulfill the following requirements:
- Applicants must have completed or appeared for the final Grade 12 examination (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized institution affiliated with Tribhuvan University or equivalent. A minimum of 45% aggregate marks or a C grade in each subject is required. Students awaiting results from Grade 12 or the 6th semester of an Engineering Diploma are also eligible.
- Foreign nationals may apply exclusively for full-fee programs, with 1/12th of the total full-fee seats at IOE’s constituent campuses reserved for them.
IOE 2025 Exam Pattern
The IOE Entrance Exam is a Computer-Based Examination (CBE), consisting of a total of 100 questions, with 60 questions carrying 1 mark each and 40 questions carrying 2 marks each.

IOE 2025 Application Process
The Institute of Engineering (IOE) entrance examination application must be submitted online via the official website: https://entrance.ioe.tu.np. Applicants should complete and submit the form within the designated period to secure their eligibility for the examination. Candidates can follow the steps below to submit the application form.
- Visit the official IOE website
- Fill in all the required personal and academic details
- Upload a scanned copy of your citizenship certificate, passport, or admission card as your identification document
- Upload a recent digital photo (350*300 pixels)
- Submit the application
- Pay the entrance fee
The entrance exam fee of NRs. 2,000 can be paid through Siddhartha Bank Ltd. via a special voucher, or through Connect IPS, eSewa, or Khalti wallet.
IOE 2025 Fee and Payment Methods
The entrance examination fee is NPR 2,000 (non-refundable). Both payment and form submission must be completed by 5:00 PM on 2082/04/27. Applicants may pay through one of three methods:
1) Bank voucher deposit at any Siddhartha Bank Ltd. branch using the designated IOE exam voucher
2) Siddhartha BankSmart App (using the "BankSmart" service with no additional charges);
3) Digital wallets including ConnectIPS, eSewa, Khalti, or IME Pay (third-party service charges may apply).
Applicants must enter either the Bank Voucher Number or the Digital Transaction ID in their application form. Submissions without valid payment verification will not be processed. Note that all fees paid are non-refundable under any circumstances.
IOE 2025 Required Documents for Application
Applicants must submit the following in the online application form:
Personal Information
Full name (applicant and parents), date of birth, permanent address, and academic records from SLC/SEE or equivalent (I.Sc./10+2/A-Level/Engineering Diploma). A color digital photograph (350×300 pixels, plain background, face and forehead clearly visible) is mandatory; other dimensions are invalid.
Identification Document
A scanned copy of a valid photo ID (citizenship certificate, national ID, driver’s license, passport, or final year/semester admit card for I.Sc./10+2/Engineering Diploma). The document’s ID number must be legible.
Examination Preferences
Select preferred examination date, location, and shift during application. Due to limited capacity, early selection is advised. Choices are final and non-modifiable after submission.
IOE 2025 Admit Card
Admit cards will be accessible online starting Bhadra 1, 2082 (August 16, 2025), aligned with the examination schedule. Applicants must download and print their admit card in color. This document is mandatory for examination center entry. Candidates must bring:
- The printed color admit card, and
- A valid photo ID (such as a Passport, Driver's License, or Citizenship) is required upon arrival at the exam center. It is mandatory to carry both documents; failure to do so may result in being denied entry to the exam.
IOE 2025 Exam Result
The results are typically published within a few days after the exams are completed. Candidates can check their results online on the official website. The total percentage of marks obtained in the entrance exam will be used to determine the entrance score. Based on this entrance score, a merit list of candidates who have obtained marks equal to or higher than the minimum passing percentage set by the Institute of Engineering (IOE) will be published on entrance.ioe.edu.np.
