The 10+2 Science is a significant academic path that students often choose after finishing the SEE. It is administered by the National Examination Board (NEB). It is designed to provide students with a robust foundation in scientific disciplines, preparing students for various higher education options and careers in science-related fields.

After completing Class 10, students aspiring to pursue careers in science-related fields, such as engineering, medicine, research, etc. must take up science courses. The popular combinations of optional subjects in science courses are:

  1. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB)
  2. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computer (PCMC)

Why to Study +2 Science?

  • Holistic Understanding: The 10+2 Science program offers students a broad understanding of scientific principles. The inclusion of subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics ensures exposure to a variety of scientific areas.
  • Gateway to Higher Education: It is an important step for students aspiring to pursue higher education in STEM subjects. The foundational knowledge gained during 10+2 prepares students for specialized undergraduate programs such as BE, BSC, MBBS and advanced study
  • Career Opportunities: The 10+2 science program prepares graduates to pursue career opportunities in engineering, healthcare, research, information technology, environmental science, biotechnology, agriculture, space exploration, and so on.
  • Innovation and Problem Solving: Studying science helps develop critical thinking, analytical capabilities, and problem-solving ability. These talents are useful not only in scientific research but also in a variety of other fields where creative thinking and analytical reasoning are required.
